I just recently bought a book from Cal Newport titled “So Good They Can’t Ignore You”. Actually, it is not my first book from Cal, I have been following this casual-eccentric-resourceful professor since his appearing on TED Talk. In fact, I’ve finished his second book “Deep Work” couple months ago. I found this guy is a kind of contrarian, or you can say anti-mainstream if you like, yet confidence with his approach and ability in doing so. He has no social media account, yet he is a computer science professor, how does it sound to you? Of course he is so good they can’t ignore him!
I will confess to you that I haven’t started to read the book. There is still a lot of books which I haven’t finished, still long way to go! Even my wife said to me that I have plenty of readings until the end of year. Thus, out of my curiosity, I was looking for an excerpt of “So Good They Can’t Ignore You” on youtube, looking for a shortcut, to air my curiosity. Then this below video came across, which pretty much summarised the idea which has been preached by Cal Newport for years. I hope you can enjoy the video and say to yourself: “Don’t follow your passion, work your ass off on skills to become so good they can’t ignore you”!
